Hundreds of Junior Girls and Boys enjoy a splendid day of hockey

A fantastic day was had by all
- Lynne Dobison - Tournament Organiser

The organisation of the event was the sole responsibility of Lynne Dobison. Without her, the tournament would not have been possible.
In both the Girls' and Boys' sections, the host club supplied umpires for the tournament. The umpires had completed their Level 1 course at The RGS months earlier and were eager to try out their whistle-blowing skills. They did a tremendous job and were complimented on their professionalism. They included Iona Stuart, Beth Clark, Emily Whiting, Lucy Robinson, Maddie Johnston and father, James Thew. John Leeds also volunteered to umpire and without him we would have been struggling. A huge thanks go to them all.
The club volunteers were added to with Gill Troup who organised the umpires, Janice Hutton, Helen Stuart, Heidi Smith, Verena Sippel, Lesley Wilson and Gemma Cracket. On the parent's side, Debbie Whitng was a star and ably aided by Liz Johnston, Liz Robinson and Karen Nicholson.
One of the other stars of the event was Junior, Kay Oxborough, who was manager for one of the girls' and boys' squads. She did a fantastic job for someone of her age. Many congratulations Kay!
Huge thanks go all our Junior girls and boys who took part and to their parents and families who supported them. Many thanks to Simon and Jordan from One Hockey who came along to sell hockey goods.
As Chairman of the club I am so proud of them all. Bring on the next tournament.
My apologies to anyone whose name I have ommitted.
