WBTHC ladies 1's started their season last weekend with a narrow 1-0 loss to Doncaster ladies.
This weekend they entertained Kirby Stephen for the first home game of the season.
The Bay started well with high intensity and dominated possession but no clear chances arrived until the 15th minute when Captain Joss Plummer opened her goal scoring for this season with a neat finish. 2 minutes into the re- start the Bay were awarded a penalty corner which was converted by Lottie Gill which gave the home team a 2-0 lead. The Bay wrapped the first half up with a 3rd goal which was well worked down the right hand side of the pitch and delivered into the circle for a simple tap in for Kaitlyn Newby.
Kirby Stephen began the second half more positively and created a few chances which were comfortably saved by GK Jo Spotswood. The game then became stretched with both teams turning possession over on a number of occasions. The Bay continued to press and missed a number of easy chances to wrap the game up. This finally came on in the 60th minute with another fine goal from Joss Plummer. The Bay go into next week’s away game against Didsbury with 3 points, 4 goals and a clean sheet.
