WBTHC M1s recent unbeaten run came to an end suffering only their 2nd defeat of the season after a disappointing display against Preston.
The game started evenly in the first 10 minutes with both teams committing numbers high in attack. Preston took control of the game when they converted a penalty corner and soon had a second from another corner. WBTHC were under pressure and struggled to find their team mates after a number of basic passing errors, but managed to keep Preston out until half time and look to improve in the 2nd half.
30 seconds into the second half disaster struck for the away team as Preston were awarded a penalty stroke after a quick break down the left. The Flick was converted low to the keepers right and the game looked over. WBTHC managed to force a goal back, but soon they were down to 10 men and Preston made the extra man count converting another penalty corner to guarantee victory. Late in the game Preston were awarded another penalty stroke, which again was converted low to the keepers left. 5 minutes from time, WBTHC grabbed a goal which was little consolation after a very poor team performance. WBTHC will be looking to get back to the standards that have seen them as one of the league leaders when they host Ben Rhydding next week.
