A big thanks goes to Core37 for providing the kit, the guys certainly looked the part and the scoreline reflected this!

On Saturday Whitley Bay & Tynemouth Mens 2’s continued their push for promotion in style with a 14-0 demolition of Stockton Mens 2s at home. The victory leaves WBTHC 2’s 1 point away from promotion with just 2 games remaining.

The game started at a high intensity with 3 goals coming in the first 10 minutes. This set the tone for the remainder of the match, with an array of goals scored by 7 members of the team. A fine attacking display with goals coming from every angle. Particular mention must go to Andy Titmus (6 goals) and Will Cooper (3 goals). Andy finally scored the teams 100th goal of the season with a well taken reverse shot beating the keeper low to the right.

One of this seasons new signings, Charlie Cooper, scored his first goal for the club as the season long drought ended with a tap-in at the far post. A much needed goal after a season of impressive performances.

Calum Gill scored an impressive reverse lob deflection, the type of finish that wouldn’t look out of place in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. His celebration matched the finish with a boisterous cheer, fitting for the 12th, unanswered goal of the game.

Even after receiving a Yellow card in the last 10 minutes of the game, the clean-sheet was secured and put the icing on a practically perfect performance from the League leaders. Next weekend sees the visit of Sunderland Mens 1’s with the team looking to gain promotion with an emphatic home victory. It won’t be an easy game though, with Sunderland looking to delay the celebrations north of the river!
