On a damp and very windy Sunday afternoon WBTHC ladies 4's took a trip up to Longhirst to take on Morpeth 2's. Despite a few bleary eyes following the Christmas party, Whitley Bay started strong transferring the ball well which kept Morpeth on their toes. It wasn't long until Heidi Ratter scored and Whitley Bay took the lead. At half time the score was still 0-1.
After half time Morpeth came back fighting and equalised from a penalty corner. Morpeth then took the lead, taking advantage of the re-start after an unfortunate umpiring decision. Some cracking saves by Sarah Massen kept the score line at 2-1. A solid performance by centre back Julie Hunter earned her player of the match
