Although Whitley Bay heavily dominated the possession and had the bulk of the chances in the 1st half they were only able to take a narrow lead into half time. Jonathan Stoddart did give the home side the lead, as he drove home a hard and low shot, that Paul Frank in goal could do nothing about.
Whitley Bay had further chances but failed to convert any and Timperley offered a constant threat on the break. However one such break did lead to a leveller, as Rory Maddock's was found in open space at the back post after a defensive mix-up in the Whitley Bay "D".
Luckily for Whitley Bay they did find the lead again, 2min before the half ended. Alex Flynn was on hand to grab his 1st goal of the season, as he forced the ball home from close range.
Whitley Bay raised the tempo of the game in the 2nd half and their possession started to pay off as gaps appeared in the tired Timperley defence.
Chris Traynor put the game out of site, at 4-1, with two more goals to add to his already impressive tally for the season. The 1st he picked up off a rebound, as Alex Lockey forced goal keeper Paul Frank into action and the 2nd from a well worked penalty corner.
Whitley Bays final game of the season will be away to Bowdon HC next Saturday as they aim to finish the season on a high.
